Every photo from a phone carries hidden EXIF metadata: the exact GPS coordinates where it was taken, the date and time to the second, the phone model, and sometimes the camera's serial number. Post that photo on a forum or marketplace, or send it as a file, and anyone can read it.
This tool removes all of it — EXIF, GPS, XMP and IPTC — from as many photos as you like.
How to remove metadata from photos

How it works — and why it's thorough
Instead of trying to find and delete individual tags (which misses vendor-specific ones), each photo is redrawn onto a blank canvas and re-encoded. A canvas only holds pixels, so there is physically nowhere for metadata to survive. Orientation is applied first, so photos don't come out sideways.
The trade-off: JPGs are re-encoded at 95% quality, which is visually identical but not bit-for-bit the same as the original.
Which platforms already strip metadata?
- Usually stripped: Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, WhatsApp (when sent as a photo, not a document).
- Often kept: email attachments, cloud-drive share links, Discord files, forums, Craigslist-style marketplaces, anything sent "as a file" or "as a document".
When in doubt, strip it. Check any photo with the EXIF viewer.
Turn off location tagging at the source
- iPhone: Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Camera → Never. Or, when sharing, tap Options and turn off Location.
- Android (most phones): open the Camera app → Settings → turn off Location tags / Save location.
